Default v02 install help!

Trying o install the v02 naked on my 72. More than a little confused about the breathers. I'm following vhs instructions but the breathers are getting crushed against the throttle body. I'm threading the hoses through the backing plate...seems kinda wrong. Any help wo uld be really appreciated!

I took a few snapshots when I installed mine, I remember being confused a bit with how to route the hoses at first as well. The instructions are not very clear.

They go from the engine port where they are just pushed on through the mounting bracket, through the filter backing plate and around the aluminum venturi like in the second pic. The illustration in the instructions looks different, they have the hose rotated weird.

No, it was tight though. There is not a lot of clearance built into those holes.
