Bought a higher wattage bulb and replaced it without any issues.
When I put it all back together I noticed I can move the headlight when I try to twist it. I think it will vibrate when I ride too.
Went to my local dealership and tried it on their Sportster and it was definitely tighter.
Everything lined up and went back exactly how it came apart.

I ran a Heavy Duty 100/55 watt H4 bulb (factory is 60/55 iirc) in my Softail. The high beam is bright as Hell and it lasted a couple years, but it pulled too much current for the socket I was using. I knew about this being possible, but I didn't have any problems - until the insulation on the wire burned away.
