from reading your post, it doesn't sound like you have bought your jets yet. If you haven't get on e-bay and order a kit from "sorgy's". Just search for "sportster rejet" or something like that. Look for the "kit" for the 04 and later sportys. They'll give you the 45 and 180 jet AND the SS hex screws for around 15 bucks. Could you get it elsewhere cheaper... maybe, but they package it up and send it to your house.
By the way, I have a 883C with V&H Shortshots and when the weather breaks I will be adding the SE A/C and will be jetting with the 45 and 180.
If you get done before I do, let me know how you make out!

Yeah, that's the name of the place I ordered by rejet kit from. I highly recommend them.
I did it satarday when I made the post I talked to the sevice guy at the dealer he said they use 48 slow jet in all there 04 -06 883's and never had a problem. So I went with that and a 180 main I installed them by myself was really easy.I havent really got to ride it the weather is crappy but the little bit I did ride I did not notice any gain. I guess I need to wait for the weather to break and try to get the mixture right. Is it normal for me to not feel at least alittle more power??I have read putting a bigger slow jet in with the se air cleaner can net 10hp I feel I should know there is 10 more hp there. I even put the baffels back it the pipes before i went for a ride.
Well like I said I got a 48 and a 180 well It warmed up some today so went out and messed with it today and it was running like crap. I went to the dealer to talk to someone about it and I talked to a different macanic told him what I was told and what I did. He said I was crazy that someone told me to use a 48 pilot jet and I pointed out to him who it was. well long story short they got reamed out I bought a 45 pilot jet came home installed it and wow what a difference. It is like a hole new bike.
You just did the jets , no needle shims, right? How was it tuning the carb, pretty easy?
Thanks!

Yeah I just redid the jets this afternoon all I did was put the 45 and 180 in no shims. The carb was really easy to ajust just be sure to pay attention to your turns you are making.
I got jets the other day and going to work on it tommorow Stealer told me to leave main jet as is and only replace the slow jet with a 48. I said I had never heard of putting a 48 slow jet in a 883 just in case I got a 45 too. They did not have the screws so I guess when it take it apart I will take a screw to the hardware store and get stainless hex heads.
