Default Need some on some apes.
So I'm gonna buy a set of apes for my ride, but I don't know which one's to get. One set says that it has an 8" center width, and the other a 3 1/2" center width. I know some of y'all have done this type of thing quite a few times, so any help would be great.

It's all about comfort with handling and you would really have to try them out. I put on 12 inch narrow Burlys, which are around 30 inches wide up top and five inches down below. I find them very comfortable

I'm definately doing 12's, I just wanna make sure that the center will clear the tank when turning at low speeds, i.e: parking lots and crap like that.

how room on the center bar do you have left where they clamp on?

I have 09 1200 low, no problems with tank clearance. I have 1 and half inch risers on it.

These are what I have in a 10" version. They aren't flashy but they fit perfect. My biggest concern when I got mine were that they weren't wider than the front forks. Khrome Werks build their bikes to fit narrow, mid or wide glide forks specifically. Also, they're pre-dimpled. I absolutely love mine.
