Just got my bike back from gettingthe 883 to 1200 conversionlast night
Its killing me to go for a ride but woke up to SNOW covered roads today
Put some new mirrors on last night to help with the AGONY.
Remember Jason, it's essentially a new engine. Same breakin speeds/RPMS as a new bike apply. You'll want to roll the throttle but try to resist. Get some nice pipes and get the SE AC and rejet to about 180/45. With the 883 gears and Stage 1 1200cc engine.......Hold on tight Bro. That sucker will haul some a$$.
I don't hear much talk about the difference in gears between the 883 and 1200 models. The 883s are geared lower so a 1200 conversion is gonna be quicker than a factory 1200. Not faster, but quicker which is where it will count in every day stoplight to stoplight driving.
Its a priced together thing.
I wanted the conversion but keeping the bike reliable and road worthy not a race only bike.
They quoted me $1500 at first but if you know your dealer well you can get them to come down a little depending on how busy they are.
I let the dealer do it because the work will still be covered under my warranty.
That also includes labor.
