Default Ride height;

My nightsters stance is stock right now. I'd like to lift it an inch or two. I'm a big boy. So stiffer suspension would help. But in the areas I ride in I'd just like to have an inch or two higher stance.

So, i know the rear shocks are 11''. But I have no idea about fork components. Outside of the fact that they are 39mm. How long are the legs? and if i wanted to add an inch or two, what parts would I need??

Thanks all.

You can throw on longer shocks, that will raise you. Maybe 13's

Thank you. I already planned on 13 inch rears. But what about the forks? If I stick to the original height forks and just get stiffer springs, how will that affect the handling and stance?

I have done the same to my SuperLow. I used 13" rear shocks, but the front was easy. You may find when you sit on the bike the forks sag over half of their full travel, mine did. I used Race Tech single-rate springs, matched to my svelte form (check their website), and set the sag correct. That lifted the front around an inch. The longer shocks don't ride 2" higher, but rather less, due to having a longer stroke, hence sagging more than the stock short ones.

grbrown speaks gospel. I have done the same thing on my scoot. This is a very good way to go. The only thing I can add is going with a pair of preload adjustable fork caps.

Aw shucks!

Thanks! Now what more can you tell us about your pre-load fork caps?
