Default Front Signal Light Relocation Question

For those of you that have relocated the front signal lights from your handlebars to the forks - what did you do with the extra wire?
Did you cut it or is there a place to tuck it in?
I have a 2013 Sportster 72 with mini apes and I want to move the signal lights to the forks but obviously there will be extra wire left in this position.
I will cut it if I have to but if there is a place to tuck it in without it looking silly I will do that in case I ever move them back for some reason.
Thanks for the help!

I have a 1200c with stock bars and was able to put the extra wire in the riser. Your setup is different. The best bet will be to unbolt the front of the tank and tuck the extra wire underneath with the rest of the harness. The signal wires are hardwired into the signals themselves. The only other option would be to cut a solder the wires to make them shorter.

I presume the same (tuck under the tank) goes for relocating to under the aux lights?

How much extra room is below the tank? I also plan on installing the garage door opener kit, and I'm worried I'll run out of space for extra wires etc.

Im not sure as you have a much smaller tank than mine. Unless you have done a tank lift/wire tuck, there should be a plastic shroud on the left side right below the tank. I had plenty of room in mine as that is where all of the main harness plugs into the various components.

I just used a zip tie on each fork tube to hold the wire out of view and the rest is stuffed behind the headlight. Mine were not originally up on the bars, I just moved from upper tree to lower. You may have more wire than I did.

Lower looks so much better IMO.

Lots of room under the 72 tank. You will not run out of space tucking whatever wires you want under there.

We have started using what we call "wire blocks" on all our kits. Actually got the idea from someone on the forum here.

Here is a picture with some of them in one of our kits.

They have double sided tape on one side and a place to put a zip tie thru on the other side. That way you can secure your wires without having any visible zip ties going around the frame. Works pretty nicely and is clean.

You can pick up those little "wiring blocks" at most any hardware store.

I did relocate my front signal lights to the forks...and the extra wire I tucked them under my tank I just pushed them little by little under my tank without problem. I did'nt cut because like what you said maybe one day I might relocate them again and I need that longer wire ready.

It sounds like you tucked the wire under the tank without lifting it? That would be nice and easy!

Thank you for all the replies guys

What relocation kits did you all use? Any detailed photos for comparison of the options? Photos of the install done and how it looks! Will help OP and others!

I noticed the kit D-K is showing has plug in connectors. Do the factory turn lights have the same?
