Default wheel help

Does anyone know if there is a wheel that will match up with my axle on my 11 48? I want to change it to a 16 x 5 so i can put the bigger tire on the rear. Hoping to get something that will match my factory front lace wheel. Maybe a factory road king or something stock on some other Harley.
Thanks for any help

Just buy the rim hoop and lace it to your current hub? Everything affiliated with the hub will remain the way it is and you'll appreciate that if you have to spend time aligning all of that stuff.

No, don't even try! Find yourself a wheel builder, who will take your current wheel, dismantle it and supply and fit the wider rim plus nice new spokes. He may even have to drill the rim to take the spokes, so the holes match your hub. On the other hand find the thread on fitting a 180 tyre, in which the writer describes how he got around this challenge.

I don't think Harley has ever used a 5" rim. A few models used a 4.5" and recent bikes with wide rear rims use a 6".

Ehh...I understand the seriousness of making sure a wheel is correct but it really isn't that difficult if you pay attention and do your research. Service manuals (and even Youtube) have plenty of info on properly lacing your wheels.

This is a 16x3 next to a 16x4.5. I laced them both. Both required the same spokes. The lacing pattern is the same, the bore is the same and the angles are the same.

BUT, if you question your skills at all, farm it out. And yes, there is an informative thread on here about the bigger tire you should check out.

I am going for the same set up as this guy. I should of said 16 x 5.5.
I want to do as much as i can. I am just researching it now cause i want to save as much money and try to find any problems that might come up. I have an old trailer fender that i am going to use.

I called them today but they said it could only be done in chrome. I want the rim black like the front.
