Default A few tips

I've ran one on my bike for ages. Super functional and pretty rigid latches so anyone trying to open it will feel your bike move a bit before it opens and hopefully deters them from pulling harder.

Make sure to Reinforce the inside of the box with a metal plate. The box metal isn't thick enough and it will over long rides wiggle a lot.

Glue down the handle or you'll get all kinds of chattering metal noises.

I used touring bar peg mounts with rubber inserts to clamp to my frame and ran the bolt through the box and metal plate. I originally used one bolt through my belt cover mount hole but the bouncing of the ammo can weight eventually snapped that weld off. They are heavy so use solid mounts and good sturdy metal spacers. Depending on which direction you orient the can (latch side facing forward) you could rig the plate to the back side of the can

Best of luck.

JCP, thank you for the advice about the ammo can strengthening as that actually didn't occur to me. I would have thought they would be strong enough if I'm honest. I've got a friend who knows a welder so hopefully can take a trip up there and get some ideas on it.

Do any of you guys know if the paint actually holds up well to a beating?

Thanks again guys

Hawk
