Anyone know the warranty on the Daymaker ? If my 1st Gen Fogs up after 2 years will they replace?
( I bought my bike with it on there, probably within a year old)
I don't have any pics, as my bike is in several pieces across multiple states right now, lol, but it's pretty self explanatory once you open the Drag headlight and see what you're working with.
There's a thin metal ring that needs to be removed(it just sits in there) to make the daymaker fit. Once you get that out and the lamp it, you'll notice that the lamp itself isn't snug. I removed the thin o-ring from the bezel "lid" and replaced it with a piece of 1/8" vaccum tubing for a tighter fit to keep the lamp from rotating around in there
I installed the updated Daymaker about a month ago and then it turned cold as hell and my knees just can't take the cold very well so I haven't been able to ride the bike much, and especially not at night yet. However, the small amount of time I have spent with the bike and the Daymaker I'm not too sure about. I really haven't seen huge of a difference. The biggest problem I see is that on low beam it's fine then flip on the high beam and it just sort of fill the area directly in the front of the bike. It's not like some huge difference. in fact, I fail to see any reason to use the high beam. Has anyone else seen this with theirs
I'm not convinced yet that the Daymaker is worth the $400 price of admission into the Daymaker club. The jury is still out on that one.

LED Headlamps make a very significant improvement. I'm pretty sure yours is just way out of proper adjustment. To adjust your headlight correctly, on level ground have your bikes headlight 25' away from a wall. Put a line of tape on the wall 35" up from the ground. Center your headlight on the 35" high tape line and you're good.

For anyone with the 1st gen I would check with the dealership about warranty replacement even if its outside the 1 year - I believe HD realizes there were manufacturing issues and may replace it out of warranty.
