I just installed the smaller version 145 on my iron. The difference at night is amazing. Very pricey, but I drive at night a lot so I'm happy.

Just went to a seminar at the local dealership and they demonstrated the Daymaker in their shop with two bikes, one with the Daymaker and one without. They turned off the shop lights and then individually turned on the lights on the two bikes. The Daymaker seemed twice as effective in lighting the area in front of you. I don’t normally ride at night but it would seem anything that gives you more light at night would also make you more visible during the day. Still thinking.

I have read mixed reviews everywhere about the "daymaker" compared to just an HID conversion kit... The daymaker looks a bit "funky" but after reading this thread, it may grow on me... gonna do some more searching about comparisons between the two but, right now I'm leaning more towards daymaker for my '14 48.

Installed the Daymaker yesterday but bad weather is preventing me from trying it out. Wow, what a bright, clean light. I was going to go HID but glad I went this route instead.

Does anybody know who's currently offering the best prices on the newer updated version of the Daymaker?

Just replied to your PM - if your going to go Daymaker, which I recommend over any HID kit, get the newer version which is the only one dealerships are selling. I think there is a reason my original version was warranty replaced and the light output on the new one is amazing, even on country roads.

Keep in mind you should never out ride your headlight, no matter how kicka$$ it is.

Default Daymaker

I installed the daymaker a few weeks back and it is incredible! My riding buddies have been on me a lot about not being visible with the stock headlamp so as most of my riding is done at night I bough the daymaker.

What a difference. It lights up both lanes and ditches on the two lane roads and I'm almost blinded by the reflective signs now. Before I could see a patch of road in front of my bike only, road signs were barely visible and I had no idea what was in the ditches or in the other lane.

It's a pile of money for a light but it's worth it for the visibility that may save my life. Took me two years to decide to buy it but after seeing the improvement I wish I had done this when I bought the bike.
