The front end is wider on the C and X than on the V.
The X has a blacked out engine.
The V has black w/ highlighted fins on the cylinders and the head and chrome (other parts of the engine, lol)
There are a couple of different C's I think.
The forty-eight resembles bobbers from the year 1948
The sevent-two resembles choppers from the year 1972
The custom, well, lets just say its custom. :P
So basically, they are all the same engines but just the bkes look different.

That's what i was trying to find out thank you very much for the info.
They are power level indicators. The power level scale goes from A (least powerful) to Z (most powerful). Thats why I got an X. 883s work the same way, I got an 883 CN. It is relatively low on the power scale (C) but has a power multiplier of N. The multiplier puts it between a U and an X on the 1200 power level scale. Theres a chart floating around here somewhere.

My 2007 1200 C has 70.5 hp @ 5,800 rpm, it has 79 ft. lbs of torque @ 3,500 and 10.5 to 1 compression ratio. Depending on how far I'm going, I run it with and without the big Ameritex Bags. I made little aluminum clamps to hold the bags to the brackets, each side takes about a half hour to mount or remove.
Why not go to your dealer and get the 2014 motocycle catalog? It has all the bikes in there, including the sporters and gives the specs - you can compare height, weight, engine, size of tank, length of bike, etc.
Also, Harley has a website. You can look up and compare the bikes there too.
