Ive never heard of an on board computer that adjusts the bike during high crosswinds. Not saying it doesnt exist, Im just saying I have never heard of it. Definitely going to be following this thread
Exactly, electronically speaking, there can be no such thing as a flux capacitor.
I could be wrong. I dont yet have the Electrical Diag manual, its on the way. I checked the service manual schematics and I dont see a computer (ECM) ... I thought the Electronic control module was introduced with the fuel injected 07. Could be wrong ... but sound like someone is pulling the .... third leg.
In my earler post I was speaking of a 07. The ECM is limited on what it can do. It can't help you ride any better or adjust for riding conditions other than what it can sense.
Ahhh no its the Harley onboard computer adjusting to the wind. The non-valid, localized reception override kicks in at 10 knots to compensate for any dynamic, non-static installation rejection that may occur due to the excessive wind force.
Just trust the bike to do what it was programmed to do and you will be fine ;-)
I think you got a few on your line, crager. I would have added digital faux-ballast withforced linearprojection, all mounted on seismic-safe duals, tuck and roll optional.
I'm interested in the ecm system. How can the bike adjust for a cross wind? Does it bring out a little fat pigmy to hang on to the other side? I'm not trying to be a smart ***, but on a 2 wheel scoot.. There has got to be some kind of weight manipulation to compensate. The ecm does know what level the bike is at. Everyone knows that. The ecm can track a year of history and everything that happened to the bike within that year that it can electronically track. I don't think however it can compensate for a level disturbance unless you lay the bike down.
Good post Crager013......
They say there is one born every second.

My bike just gave me the blue screen of death last night so I rebooted it and it has been fine since. You may need to update the localized reception software to version 3.0
