Default wind riding

When riding in very strong crosswindsmy sporty leans into the wind by itself kind of like a ghost countersteer, it feels like the bike is sliding out from under you.Is this normal? I dont remember this happining on the shadow I used to ride, I think it may be from the near solid rear wheel insted of the spoked rear wheel. Does this sound right?

No, It's your body being told by your brain and middle- ear to compensate by leaning into the wind or risk getting blown over the other direction.

It's not that. It's not me leaning or countersteering, its the wind blowing the bottom half of the bike, sometimes I have to countersteer the other direction to get control of the bike back. Also with the shadow the same winds would blow the me or the top half of the bike in the direction of the wind which would force me to countersteer into the wind, giving me the control of how much I needed to countersteer, the sporty just does it by itself

It's the solid rear wheel acting as a little sail . My buddy's fat boy with 2 solid wheels is all over the road in a side wind Mark..

Ahhh no its the Harley onboard computer adjusting to the wind. The non-valid, localized reception override kicks in at 10 knots to compensate for any dynamic, non-static installation rejection that may occur due to the excessive wind force.
Just trust the bike to do what it was programmed to do and you will be fine ;-)

I have felt that same feeling of the rear end sliding out from under you in a cross wind.It is the solid rear wheel catching the wind.I finally got used to it and it doesnt bother me anymore, well until a really strong wind finally decides to hit me!

I'm interested in the ecm system. How can the bike adjust for a cross wind? Does it bring out a little fat pigmy to hang on to the other side? I'm not trying to be a smart ***, but on a 2 wheel scoot.. There has got to be some kind of weight manipulation to compensate. The ecm does know what level the bike is at. Everyone knows that. The ecm can track a year of history and everything that happened to the bike within that year that it can electronically track. I don't think however it can compensate for a level disturbance unless you lay the bike down.
