So I know California has all these restrictions with exhaust modifications. Anybody here from there that are running pipes for late 2013/2014 sportster 48 models. Any recommendations/suggestions. It killing me that my bike can't sound like a "Harley." What to do.
By the way screaming eagle slip-ons are not cutting it either. Help!!!

I'm in LA, run V&H shortshots - no problems
Nobody from people I know had any with custom pipes
Thunderheader, then blow the baffles out. It will be plenty loud, just don't ride like an idiot and keep your eye out for cops. I've never had a problem with either the Thunderheader or the stock pipes with the baffles removed (knock on wood) ever since I've been riding but I also putt putt around a lot in areas I know the cops are noise *****. Shift early, coast often and in residential areas I try to keep a low profile. Once you're on the open highway or freeway it's game on! Shatter ear drums while splitting lanes, rev that sucker to the red line while merging into traffic.
Didn't want to go through the whole drilling baffles out. Also I think the O2 censors are different for the 2014 and I don't think anyone is making an entire exhaust system yet
Look into Supertrapp or Kerker 2 into 1 types. I think it's what it's called they're the same stuff from the same company. They use a disk system that can be used to tune the tone and back pressure on your system, they may have O2 port versions. It's one of the systems I'm considering if and when the Thunderheader I have now goes south. They've got pretty good clearance too, at least that's what I've heard.
I've been running straight pipes on all my bikes, all my life. I've lived in CA for the past 33 years and have never been nailed for pipes. I can't tell you how many times I've been stuck sitting along side of a LEO at a red light, and still no tickets ... not even for my bogus novelty helmet.
IMO, unless you're a real A-Hole, the LEO's in CA are pretty cool. A lot of them ride as well.

Completely agree with that. But last time I was talking to people at local custom bike shop, the owner told me cops in Malibu actually nailing people for exhausts... Was there just couple times, so can't say if true. However, was riding with a group through Beverly Hills neighborhood, cops drove by - didn't give a second look
