I just put a deposit on the silver and black. A little backround for ya. I rode sport bikes my whole life, then bought a V-Rod in 05. Went back to a CBR sportie in 06. Now the nightster. I'm looking to just cruise now, but would also like a little snack, crackle, and pop with handling on the nightster if you know what I mean. I haven't ridden it yet, but help me out guys and gals. How does she feel??
ive had mine alittle over a month now and i really enjoy the ride. the cornering is good once u get used to it biggest thing for me was with the lowered rear end you have to use more back brake but it really is a bitching ride i wouldnt trade it for the world get comments on it every time i take it out.
forgot to tell u take those damn curb feelers off the foot pegs unless u like dragging them everytime u make a fairly low turn.
Absolutly! I dragged my R one the first day out with it. Scared the heck out of me because I didn't think I was leaning that much turning the corner. Handles great, azz end feels a bit stiff, but then it's my first sporty and I'm not sure what feels normal yet. Send us some pics when u get her.
PS: blackaccys are rather rare right now, backrests, luggage racks, etc,but I'm hoping more will come soon.
I think the Nightster would be a good choice, I love mine, but I like to ride Sportsters. Test ride a 1200 L or something similar in the sporty line, see if you like the feel of one first. If you like the feel of the Sporty and you like looks of the Nightster, buy it.
Saw one in the flesh for the first time at my dealer yesterday. Man but they got it totally right.
My one issue is the seat height. If you have anything more than a 30 inch inseam, you're going
to be scratching your nipples with your kneecaps any time you please.
If you're looking to cruise it is a stunner. If you're looking to tilt the horizon a little, it's the wrong scooter.
