Default Quiz to resolve

I have a HD Sportster XL883 2006.

Since two months ago she show some backfires sometimes when I was ride her.

Since two week ago she cant start correctly and spit a big backfire and shutdown.

Now she only Start and sound like with one piston and when I accelerate she sound like lost power and turn off.

Only can start her when I pull the choke and like I say when accelerate she shutdown.

1-New Battery.
2-new par of spark plug wires
3-carburator look clean and the filter too.
4-spit gas from the right side really good,

Any clue???

Check for corrosion on all connections, grounds, etc. Buy a can of Seafoam and put some in the gas. Did you open the carburetor? Maybe your crankshaft position sensor? I've read of strange problems attributed to that item.

It should be something simple, no te preocupas.

Don't worry about your English, most of the people on this forum don't speak it well either.

Seafoam is the brand name of a fuel additive. It will help clean out your carburetor system most of the time. Check your electrics first.

You said it's spitting and backfiring through the carb?
Water in the gas will cause that.

Yes, I one day had the same issue with my EFI bike; it was rough starting, it wouldn't stay running without revving the throttle, and it was farting out the intake and backfiring out the exhaust. I must admit it sounded funny, the "pop-pop-poppity-pop-pop-pop-whooosh-bang-poppity-pop" was almost comical but after realizing it wasn't going away it wasn't so funny anymore!! The first thing I thought about was bad fuel, but the bike had half a tank in it and there were no problems the last time I had it out. So I took a look-see in the tank anyway and the fuel looked cloudy, hmmmmmmm. I then remembered previously reading about fuel with ethynol and the possibility of moisture attraction issues so I looked into fuel additives/stabilizers like SeaFoam and Sta-Bil and how they can help reduce or eliminate moisture and sitting issues - I then went out and bought some SeaFoam. I siphoned out the fuel [which was indeed cloudy, a definate sign of moisture/water] and replaced it with fresh high test, then started adding a capfull of SeaFoam into each tank at fill up, and voila', I haven't had a problem since. Some people claim that today's fuels don't need any additives and that may be true when ethynol is NOT added to fuels and that any additive is snake oil, but at $6 and change a bottle its pretty cheap insurance against moisture issues. And if you can't afford a measely $6 and change every 6 months, you certainly can't afford to own a bike, and maybe should take up much safer and less expensive activities such as knitting, making paper dolls, folding origami, ant farming, etc., LOL.
