Sorry I have not sympathy for you. I was able to fund my wedding and managed to keep the wedding costs down by doing certain things by ourselves. Like doing your own flowers, and making our save the date cards and what not. I was fortunate enough to know certain people and was able to pay for everything in cash. Got a discount at the hotel (four point sheraton near ohare), rented a Chapel in Glenview, was friends with a DJ and what not.
Start being creative. My wife and I knew that having a wedding was a waste of money so we found ways to do thing ourselves. Make sure your wife helps you out.
