It is to show the light pattern. With Daymaker, the area closed to bike, for me, is still not enough.

Here is the comparison when my engine guard is turned on/off

The light pattern generated from Daymaker is below my expectation.

I guess maybe if you do a lot of night riding it might be worth it, I however do very minimum night riding and typically only when it gets dark and I'm on my way back defiantly not worth pissing off three or four hundred for it and to me that is exactly what I would be doing Pissing it off! I would rather spend the cash on something for the bike that would be used far more.
I hear ya, they are expensive. But NONE of the aftermarket bulbs can compare to LED. HID can compare, but it's more than just a bulb, and a bit of a PITA to wire. Nobody I ride with using HID even wanted to hassle with wiring the High Beam. By the time you pay somebody to wire HID with a high beam, you could have just bought a simple plug & play LED.

I'm a bit of a cheap f*ck, especially when dropping a few hundred on a headlight. But I also love to ride as much as possible. With night blindness, night time cruises were uncomfortably challenging. I installed Truck Lite LED Headlamps on both of my bikes and now ride a lot at night and love it. So to me it was a very small price to pay to enable me to ride in comfort at night so frequently.

BTW, what can you buy for your bike that's used more than a headlight? It's technically used more than your engine.

Thumbs up

I'm on my 2nd one if that tells you anything. The first one I had a rock fly at me and cracked the first one pretty good. So loud I heard it on the highway at about 75-80mph. I think the daymaker is well worth it. You can see a lot more on the sides of the road like someone else was saying. Lights up the little buggers trying to get across the road. Plus if you have one and it's not doing you any good. Check the adjustment on your headlamp. It does a world of good! I have the daymaker and LED's all around on my Nightster. I want to be seen when I'm out riding.
