Default Is the Daymaker worth it?

I've seen a lot of threads of people upgrading to the daymaker led headlamp but what I've yet to see is a general consensus of whether or not it's worth it. All I ask for an answer is yes or no and why, please. Kutter Harley has them for $320 and I'm debating on doing it.

So, was it worth it?

Yes, because I wanted one, I now have it, and having it feels good.
Can't comment on actual usage BTW cause of the sheit weather here...

BTW, these puppies cost 450 euros here, including 10% discount. So for 320 US get 2!

I have the daymaker in conjunction with Custom Dynamics Halo Rings and it makes a huge difference. Will be the very first thing I will do to my next bike. Helps with being seen and seeing. Not only does it make a difference in extending the visible area, the reflection of eyes by deer and other critters is enhanced in the non-visible area.

I live in the country so that's good to hear for sure.

I've hit a deer and slayed countless coons, possums, squirrels, armadillos, and even swine between my camaro and tundra.

I vote no. It depends on what kind of improvement one look for. I recently spent close to $180 to install engine guard driving lights. It cost more than 50% of Daymaker price.

Daymaker does brighter than stock light, but the range improvement is not that much than stock

I select this route because I need more light around me. I live in city, I do not need light that is bright but far away. Beside seeing more, I also want to be seen more.

Anyway, worth or not is depended on what you need..

The thread you linked to compares the old Daymaker to the new one. Not the stock light to the Daymaker. Stock to Daymaker was a huge improvement.

MrGood if your concerned about out riding your current headlights pattern or not being seen - I would say go for the daymaker. It's well worth the money.

Both my Superlow and my partners Iron have Daymakers and we love them. If I can get around to it I can put my factory headlight back in my bike and take some comparison pictures so you can see. However I will say that it's some of the best money I've spent on my bike.

I like the Daymaker headlight however, I don't feel the $320 to $400+ price tag is worthy of the headlight considering there are many aftermarket headlights and bulbs that can light up the road for hundreds of dollars less on the market.

I guess maybe if you do a lot of night riding it might be worth it, I however do very minimum night riding and typically only when it gets dark and I'm on my way back defiantly not worth pissing off three or four hundred for it and to me that is exactly what I would be doing Pissing it off! I would rather spend the cash on something for the bike that would be used far more.

Update: I purchased and have installed the daymaker. I have to say it is a massive difference for me. And including removing my fairing it only took 20 minutes to install. Well worth the $320 in my opinion. Looks pretty sweet too. No night shots yet.
