Default height adjustment? newbie question, help?

I have a 1200 xl custom that I purchased 2 years ago. I purchased it so that my boyfriend would drive it and I would ride in back. Anyhow, to make a long story short I took the riding class in fall last year so I can drive it. The only thing is that I am short, 5'2" to be exact and I wish it was lower so it would be more comfortable and so I would have more control. I have not ridden it yet. I went to the hd dealership to sit on some lower bikes to see the difference. They had a 883 Low (but no 1200Low) and that was comfortable.

I am wondering if it is possible to lower the bike that I have rather than purchasing something different. Also if this is possible, is it expensive? I do not have much knowledge on this subject, so any thoughts or ideas would greatly be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Default RE: height adjustment? newbie question, help?

Welcome to HDForums Frenchie! I've been called that myself more than once thanks to my dad. Anyway, I haven't lowered mine as I'm 6' tall but know that you have several options. The OEM seat caneasily be changedfor an aftermarket designed to lower your buttocks, anda narrower style that closes your stance. You can also slam the suspension with progressive rear shocks and front fork springs as well. Try a search, there's been several threads addressing this issue.
