Default Sundowner fit 2009 with 2.2 tank??

I'm interested in picking up a Sundowner 2-up seat but when I look at the specifications it mentions that it is for the 4.5 gallon tank. I have the smaller 2.2 gallon tank (yes, an entire 100 mile range) and I'm not sure if the seat will fit. I don't see any info on the Harley website.

Any ideas? I can call the stealership for more information, but figured I'd start here. Thanks!

Yes, it should fit, but you'll have a gap between the nose of the seat and the back of the gas tank.
The seats for the 4.5 gallon tanks have a shorter nose to accommodate the longer length of the tank.

So, there are different sizes of the Sundowner? That's what I would have expected, but couldn't find any specifics on that point.

Hi guys, you can ignore this question. After more research it is apparent that the standard 883 XL tank size is 3.3 and not the really small 2.2 peanut tank. I have not been able to get 3+ gallons in the tank, but I generally get 100 - 120 miles per tank which jives with a 3 gallon tank. As such, the Sundowner would fit just fine without any spacing.

I just picked up a sundowner last weekend, it's a huge improvement over the stock seat. You will like it. The only issue I had with installation was the distance between tab that inserts under the tank and the pin that locks into the seat bottom. I don't know if this is the case with all sundowner seats, just my experience. The seat is still well worth the effort though.
