Default Engine guard/crash bar

Getting ready to put a new rider on a sportster 883 low. Thinking about installing a crash bar in case it goes down. Is it worth it? Im not sure exactly how much would be saved with it on the bike.

Do it. One tip over and it will have paid for itself. It will protect the primary, brake and shifter, tank and bars as well.

Im not running a crash guard now but a highway bar spared my *** from getting any road rash when I low sided a CB750 that I rode in the 70's. Probably a great investment for a new rider as a dropped bike can get very expensive

Absolutely. Plus if you ever want highway pegs it's best.

Definitely yes. Odds are they will drop it in a parking lot or your driveway. It will save you some money in the long run.

I took mine off-was on the bike when I got it. Besides making the bike not look as good IMO it will help some in a light tip over/drop.
