I did mine one at a time with no jack. It was pretty easy to do without the jack. If you plan on getting a jack anyway, than it will probably be even easier.....

If you use the jack, I did, only raise the Bike enough to unload the shock, leave the rear wheeel in contact with the floor, and make damn sure you secure Bike to the jack with straps, better be safe than sorry. I used the jack like I said, and it was a piece of cake. we replaced the shocks on my Sons 883R with no jack. Still a piece of cake

A related question. Is it just as easy to lover the front forks? Is it just changing the springs?
