Hey everyone I'll open by stating I am a new member as well as a new rider in the HD family. I own a 2009 Nightster and I'm having trouble with finding the exhaust I want. I picked out Rinehart Crossbacks but I can't seem to find them reasonably priced anywhere I know a long time ago there were really good deals on these pipes and I was looking for some recommendations on a good place to look for them at not such a rough price.
I'm not sure, the best price I could find on my cobras was from a seller on ebay,, a wise thing to do is to look at the big sellers on ebay and then check out their sites, they usually list the stuff cheaper on their sites without the ebay fees..
another thing you can try is to web-search for coupons for the big sites like dennis kirk & JP cycles, or join their email lists and wait for them to send a coupon.
Exhaust is just 1 thing that you usually can't get cheap because everyone wants them, and it's near impossible to find used because no one wants to sale them..
Just have to keep searching the discount sites (i.e. Craigslist, eBay, etc.) as certain pipes will go on sale. I know Dennis Kirk sometimes has good clearance on parts/accessories. Otherwise start saving and let your bike parts reserve fund build...then buy away.
Yeah, like they said just keep an eye out and be patient as well. I did a quick search and the cheapest I found was $499, but for Dynas on eBay. Other than that the lowest was $795.
I went through the same thing with the Freedom Performance Upsweeps for my Slim, took 7 months to find them at $566 (and that was with free shipping) on Amazon through Powersports Superstore, since then they have gone back up in price.
One thing you can do is contact after market sellers, some of them will have a place you can click for a price break, leave your email addy and they will contact you if they drop the price, otherwise just search about once a week for a drop in price through Google as I did.
Thank you everyone for the input I'm going to be searching high and low for awhile until I find these pipes. Has anyone run a set of crossbacks on their sporty before I am curious to see if they're really as good as I've read.
