As I said above in post #5, the Mobil-1 15w-50 is what I've used for 98,000 miles.

This is a Blackstone oil analysis done at 78,000 miles. If you don't understand the data, just read the comments.

Your 100C cSt viscosity is in the 40W range. Xw50 oils should be 16.3-21.89 at 100C for cSt viscosity.

Thats getting too thin for summer time riding the way I ride. Maybe only pushing it to 4,000 miles for sunday morning style riding but for someone who might run their machine hard, it might look like a 40W like your UOA in 2,000 miles.

Wealth of info on their web site.
Just surf it.
Looked around briefly........saw no mention of "air cooled" engine oils.

.
Yeah were going to take someones word who doesnt even own a bike over a company who does 100s of thousands of oil tests. Blackstone says it should be between 14.3 and 18.2, Ill believe them over you.

Actually Ill believe what my dog has to say about motorcycles over you.....................as would about 99% of the people out there.

Yer just jelly cuz I never winterize my bike and you lay yours up from october till june down there in GA.

So it is obvious you know little about oil and viscosity ranges, or that Blackstone is not very well trusted and known to be biased. How about you look up actual viscosity ranges for what rates instead of looking at non ASTM viscosity range Blackstone made up.

Here is a link for ya rook'

THe oil in question, http://www.chemcorp.co.uk/creo_files..._15w50_pdf.pdf

Starts out pretty darn thin compared to a full syn 20w50

You are welcome, and Im not talking to you. Its for everyone else to see Blackstone labs just pulled a number out of their *** and said this oil is good.

It might work well for fellas like you running around curves at flower sniffing speeds, but that stuff is water thin for someone like me.

You just make yourself look stupid with your not very well though out pokes at me. You make yourself look dumb when there is plenty of specs out there that indicate the real viscosity range of a 50W at 100C for cSt viscosity.

Now go hop in the lincoln and go to the stop and rob to get a pack of smokes. Might help you calm down.

Apply the 100C cSt from the blackstone chart to this and tell everyone here where that oil has sheared down to.
