I'm still waiting for my Fox Creek chaps to arrive. They sent the wrong size but have been very good about re-doing my order and sending me the correct size. My only question is about the fact that your rear end is fully exposed in the event of a sliding accident. I wonder how much protection you're really getting.
I wear chaps when it's cold. Then I got my riding pants from Tourmaster and I ask myself why I even bothered with chaps. These pants cover your butt and crotch on the cold days burr~~~. Keep me dry form the rain. they have knee and shin guards and padding on important areas. they are black with reflective piping on the side. I can take the liner off for thoe warm days. Man chaps are the past! get with the times and buy a pair of modern riding pants. Oh by the way the tourmaster pants were the same price as my chaps fron J&P cycles.
for cold riding, i can't think of anything better (short of heated pants) to wear than a good pair of chaps. You can get em with zip out liners so that you can wear em in any weather. It's allways good to wear protective gear when riding, when you lay one down, and walk away because of the cow hide that saved your hide, it will make you appreciate it. I have never heard a rider say they regreted wearing good leather after a crash.

I dunno - seems to me that those Jack Daniels girls at Sturgis last summer filled their chaps out rather nicely with the super short shorts and/or thongs... didn't look gay to me at all. There are few things that look nicer than awoman's nice firm"uu" in a pair of 'em.
I'm new to riding a Harley solo. Rode behind my ol' man for 3 years, it was awesome! Owned dirt bikes as a kid. But I wear my chaps and sometimes, even if it is hot, my jacket, if I am in very heavy traffic. I've had to go 75 mph on a four lane freeway and that wasn't even keeping up with the flow of traffic! And when I am riding solo, yes, I wear my chaps. There's a big difference between a Harley and a rice burner and I am not that experienced. Besides, I am a female and there is no way I can lift my bike by myself. I might catch flack for wearing my chaps in hot weather but I just smile and tell them it's hard to part with my skin.
