Default 2014 48 Upgrades

I know about the ABS which is an option, ergonomic controls, improved breaks...but I read that it now comes with a tachometer?

Read here

Can anyone confirm this?

I have a 14 48. The Speedo is analog with a digital gear/tach, trip A/B, and time. It also sits flatter then other sportys. The o2 bungs on the exhaust are now 12mm instead of 18mm I believe. I also think the rear brake master cylinder is almost under the frame now? Have to look. Someone mentioned another difference in the exhaust but I forget what it was

Yes, it has the new CANBUS wiring harness like the bigger bikes have been using since 2012 or so. This is new for 2014, and brings with it the tach and gear indicator in the gauge readout. It also makes a lot of aftermarket electronics require a new version (fuel tuners, etc). And like the above poster said, the rear master cylinder was moved so 2014s will require unique exhausts in most cases.

The rear master cylinder seems to be almost underneath the bike, I don't see it giving to many probes for exhaust except for maybe mounting brackets?? Actually interested in this because with a o2 replacement bung I can run previous years pipes hopefully with no prob but don't want to waste money until I'm sure. Anyone know anymore on the exhaust situation?

No, it's not under under the bike, it's on the right side of the bike. I called vance and hines directly and spoke with one of their designers/engineers. The cylinder location is what's keeping the 2013 exhausts from bolting up.

This is good then I think. Yea it's on the right side so I guess any lower straight pipes would be a problem. So if I want to run Santee LAF pipes with the o2 bung I should be good then??

No idea, call them and ask I guess. Unbaffled pipes generally suck though, FYI. Might want to do more research or wait for some more baffled options to come out. I think the LAFs are straight pipes, right?

I believe so. Was going to put torque cones in. Not particularly worried about the noise. Hope they'll fit cause I've found them for decent prices. Really don't want vnh or ss like everyone else has. No offense just not my style I guess.
