Default Help with windshield

Hello all, I just purchase a Memphis Shade El PAso windshield for my 05 1200C. I'm getting serious buffeting no matter what position I put it at. Is there any tricks to cut back on the amount of buffeting I get. The wayit stands now is it's off my bike and I'd rather put up with the wind on my chest than feeling like my head is in a paint mixer from the buffeting. Thanks for any suggestions.

Just a suggestion to eliminate things, try tucking you legs in tight against the gas tank when running above 60 & see if that helps. If it does then the air flow is coming from below the shield. I always have to ride with my knees tucked in with my Memphis Fats shield at high speed/ It's not just Memphis but a common problem with all windshields without a fairing.

I think all it is the airflow coming up from under the windshield which is not unusual. Try tucking your knees closer to the tank or getting 'lowers' which should eliminate the buffeting.

I have a 2004 1200C with a HD detachable 19" windshield and no problems.I am 5' 10" if that is any help my eyes are just above the windshield so I am not looking through it. I did have a 14" on there but the buffeting was terrible so I bought a Memphis replacement shield for $ 99.00 cdn, half the price of a HD replacement and identical dimensions.

I'm not sure of the height of the ElPaso..... but .....If its too short that can add to your problems.... I'm 5'6".... and I am concidering getting a windshield too, but I may get the Rio Grande by Memphis Shades,,, I think its 22wide, and 18high....

I have the Memphis Shades Shooter, its 14" and i notice i get lots of buffeting when i wear my helmet, seems like mines coming between the sheild and the headlite, right up under my face sheild. But it still beats having that wind blast at my chest, holding on for dear life.

like I said when I put a replacement shield on my HD detachable it solved all my problems. The shield is 18" wide and 28" total height (19" from headlight opening)

I am with ontcanuck, no problems with the Harley quick detachable and I am 5'9".Wear a half helment.

I also have a fork bag above the headlight on the inside of the windshield.

I took off the W/S yesterfay and rode to work this morning, really felt a difference.
