Burly sissy bar installed
The quality is great and it seems really solid, I don't foresee any issues with the craftsmanship. Installation is a snap since it's only two parts; the bar and the pad. It comes with hex head bolts so all you need are a couple of hand tools, it also has instructions but it's so straight forward you don't need em. You just take out the four bolts on the fender supports, maneuver the sissy bar into place and then install with the new bolts.
Though of course I have to be all special with the way my turn signals are mounted so I had to make a trip to the hardware store for some all-thread
I decided on a sissy bar to 1) get the old lady off my ***(both literally and figuratively) and 2) to strap a pack to for camping. I got the tall one because I'm pretty sure the short wouldn't be enough for a pack but also the tall one will actually support a passengers back instead of just bracing their butt. It seemed comfy enough when I sat back against it even with the pad removed (which is how I'll probably have it most of the time)

Total height from base to tip is 22 inches. Height from the passenger seat to tip is 15 inches, so it sticks up 15 inches higher than the fender and seat. I was a little worried about it being too tall as I didn't want to look like some far out 70's chopper but I must say I'm quite pleased with the proportions.
