Very serious. Its a durable nylon-ish sock that guys have been covering air covers in rain with for years. 50˘ each. Use two at once. They do the same as any sock.
I think S&S even sells "socks"(pantyhose) with the name branded for their pod filters.
.....Besides, fits the whole "skirtster" theme.
Yeah.. seriously pantyhose.
No sock needed anyway IMO, rain won't hurt anything.

I have looked everywhere online for the rain sock that will fit over XLFLOW-S1 SPORTSTER AIR CLEANER. I left the stock cover on it. Where can I get one? This boy scout wants to be prepared.
I bought a screamin eagle rain sock that fits the oval style air cleaners. I stretched it a little to get it over my hammer air cleaner but it works fine now. Got it off eBay for $10 new

if you have an oiled filter, the rain will sap your filter's oil off. you'll need to re-oil your filter. and theres a pretty good chance that the oil and water mix willfind its way intoyour engine... earning you some CEL codes. frustrating nonsense for nothing. rainsocks exist for a reason.
Heres another shot but after a rain storm where I couldnt see 10 feet in front of me..........it was scary. Here we all are trying to dry off a bit. No sock, no codes, no trouble. Rain socks exist to make your wallet lighter.
i've got love for rog48 and his evil beautiful bike but, that's his opinion and his bike, not yours.
i've ridden through plenty rain cluster f#$%s, with and with out a rain sock. everytime i do without the sock i have to re-oil m filter, which turns white/silver(normally red), and i get the p0122 TPS code.
i'm not telling you how to live. i'm telling you what happens to my bike.
Hmm, thats odd. The TPS is an externally mounted sensor. Water/oil through the intake would not affect its ability to "sense". Now water (rain) on the sensor itself particularly the connector if its not sealed correctly could cause issues. So I would look at your sensor to see whats up. But I guarantee a little water/oil through your intake will not give a TPS code.

This is true but, it happens like clock work. No sock, p0155 pops up. Not sure why. Sock, no codes.
Its possible that the sock is deflecting the rain away from the sensor. Next time you wash it I would try, while running, bathing the sensor in water and see if you get the codes.
