I'm swapping over all of my pegs the hd chrome cushion pegs. I have gotten the control pegs done and I'm awaiting the set I ordered to replace my highway pegs.

I als so found a vinage NOS HD chrome cushion shifter peg and I also scored the current chome cushion shifter peg... But I cant get the peg of the shifting arm tp compare which looks /feels best. I have hamfisted enough nightmars to know I need to ask for help here.

I Google d the issue and found that red loctite is holding the peg on.

Some say heat gun, others say hamfist. What do i do to get this thing off?

Never had that problem... but I would first try the heat gun route before any other, more drastic, method...

Brute force and ignorance got mine loose. The Vise-Grips helped.

Loctite makes a release agent. Or bust a knuckle.

I guess the the 95 degree temps here in Florida let loose the loctite. The peg spun right off with vise-grips. Thanks all.

Parts used:
49154-86 x 1 (vintage find NOS circa 1994)
