The 07-09 sportsters (I think that's the range) had the relays and fuses open behind the side plate, (stupid bean counters). This made them very susceptible to corrosion even with putting dialectic grease on them. I no longer have my 09 Nightster, but still carry a spare relay. They are cheap, small, but critical and I did have one go bad on my 09, popped new one in and back on the road. Print out the malfunction codes and put in your bag. I have often thought of adding a tps as they seem to cause a lot of problems, (or maybe just learn where it is to be able to clean it!).
