Default Removable Passenger Pegs

Hey guys I'm fairly new to the forum. I picked up my first Harley last month a 2014 Sportster 48. I'm loving the bike so far and have started to get the itch for modding I already changed my rear, and front running lights/turn signals to the custom dynamics LED bulbs and love the change. I would like to start riding a passenger but I love the solo rider look on the bike. I would like to get a removable passenger pillion which I've seen, but I can't seem to find a removable peg setup. On my previous bike a 2013 Honda CBR1000 I had a setup from Sato that made removing the pegs from the bike really easy by screwing on and off. Is there anything like that for this bike?

The Harley passenger pegs you could take on and off. it won't be very quick. I have the 48 seat with pillion and the pegs fold up out of the way when not in use. We'd love to see some pics of your 48 and welcome to the fold

Thanks for the response! So the stock passenger pegs from Harley can be taken off without too much hassle? The great thing about the Sato Street Hooks that I had was that my passenger pegs literally screwed on and off super easy. Here are a couple pics I took this weekend

No, not exactly. One thing different about the '14 48s is the addition of the master cylinder right in the way of where you mount the right side passenger peg. To mount the passenger pegs you need a brand new mounting kit especially for the new 48's and to install them you must loosen the exhuast pipes and drop them out of the way.

So, removable? Yes. Quickly and easily? Um...no.

Just install them and leave them there.

Yup...it takes a bit of time and it will be a hassle taking them on and off...having to remove the brake master over again...its just not practical...just put them on and fold them up when not in use...

I use a couple clevis pins to secure mine to the bracket. I just pull the ring and the little spring loaded bearing presses in and the peg comes off. The bracket remains but you don't really notice it.

That setup with the pins is exactly what I'm going to try then thanks for the info. I don't want to remove the mount but I would like the complete solo look of the bike when I'm not riding somebody.

Just a FYI, you'll be rebending and/or replacing the wave washers a lot.
