I have a 2013 model 72, I'm interested in some LED turn signals but the advice is that I'd also need a load equalizer. Some folks said that isn't true, they just flash a little faster . Does anybody know for sure ?
I'm wanting same thing for my 2012 72, but only wanting to do the rears. Was told that I didn't need the equalizer due to only doing the rears. True, false?
if you do all 4 flashers you will need the load eq ----
if you do just the front or rear you wont need to buy it ...
they will flash alot faster if you do all 4 and dont install the load eq
its not a big deal if you can put up with them flash like that
but for me it was just annoying as hell to see them flash that way . so i got the load eq.
Have you looked into their run/brake/turn modules? I was worried about rear visibility as well, I did not go LED on the turn signals, but having all 3 lights on all the time and flashing (several choices of patterns you can program) makes a big difference. A snap to install, just one little box under the seat.
I ordered my lights on Saturday and received them on Wednesday. I have a 14' Iron 883 so I did NOT need the load equalizer. Install was a breeze and the lights look amazing on the bike and man are they bright. Now I have to save some $$$ to buy the LED HD headlight.
Two things I did notice was that the LED clusters when putting on the bullet cap lenses on the clusters would move and getting the lenses to click took a bit longer than expected. Second the turn signal indicator does flash rapidly but the lights themselves flash normal. I can deal with the quick flashing on the indicator.
If you’re thinking of getting them stop thinking and just get them very good investment in being seen at night.
