Default another horn relocation question...

I looked this up but couldn't find an answer and I didn't want to hijack the other relo post. is it easy enough to put the cowbell horn on a 48 like they have them on the bigger bikes? I want to fill in the spot where you guys put the coil & ignition relocation setup, and I don't want to raise the tank. I like the horn on my road king and was thinking of switching it.

Fabricate a mounting bracket and install the cowbell horn in the "V"? Go for it! I have no idea if the horn harness connectors are the same but it shouldn't be an issue as there can only be either one [12V+ ONLY if the horn grounds through the frame] or two wires [12V+ AND a separate ground wire to ground] going to it. I think it would look nice in that spot.

=8^)

You can probably pick up a take-off bracket made for that from a HD dealership for little or nothing. Some Sportsters come stock with the cowbell right where you want to put it.

If you make a bracket, make sure to use the correct rubber bushing between your bracket and your horn mount. If you mount it solid, the horn mount will break...and it doesn't take long.

Horn harness on your 48 will work for the cowbell, and it is long enough also.

ok cool, thanks. I saw the 72 horn setup, I don't like where it sits, I want it up higher where you would put the coil relocation setup. to fill that spot in. the bracket seems easy enough to get.
thanks guys
