ECU Relocation Ideals
Hey Guys I hope y'all summer has went well , first post since last winter so here's my new ideal I have for '08 883 xl . I want to know the best place to relocate my ecu which that looks to be on down tube under the seat like on the 72 's . I'm planning on using a 2012 -- 72 seat , I already have different rear fender that I've got tig welded up . Would heat be a factor in putting it right behind the engine . Oh yeah I think the 72 ecu is in a plastic box would that help if I bought that to . Thank You for advice and Your time .

There are quite a few threads on this and if you check it on the "other" forum for Sportsters they've got quite a good thread with multiple options. I mounted mine to my battery under the battery cover. The only issue is that the cover sticks out a little bit on the bottom. You can't really tell though.
Here's a pic of where I mounted mine. Right on top of the small form lithium battery.
Even with the stock battery, it can still fit beside it, behind the cover. To me this is preferable than being in the heat and the direct weather. (although I have not heard of any failures due to that.)
