Hey all
I have a 2005 xl1200c. bought it used. new battery new negative battery cable( old one was broken by terminal). ground nut is tight, terminals are tight. I thought my problem was fixed when it died on me today after take off. no power. when I put a socket on the ground nut I got power back. it wasn't loose but I put a little extra pull on it. then I had power and took it around the block. this has happened a few times before.
any thoughts?

That ground nut screws onto a stud that's screwed into the motor case. These studs have been known to corrode where the stud screws into the case. Try removing the stud and cleaning the threads and reinstall.
Everything is tight , took it for a ride no prob. Pulled it in garage turned it off & tried to start it and click . Something is shorting out. Turn key to acc. And speedometer light comes on but when it hit a blinker it goes off!
