...The rims were off of a vega car ( us old timers know of that car)...
Not to hijack the thread, but my Dad had a Vega; spent more time in the shop or on the side of the road than actually on the road. It was a piece of S#!%, but at least it was a cool looking piece of S#!%.
The biggest problem with 8 inch(tires) wheels is not running them at the recomended inflation, I had a old boat and trailer with 8 inch tires, that would fly apart....... reason not enough air in them they start to flex ,over heat and the rubber flys off. Never any wheels bearing problems, if you service them as needed.
I have a fold up with 8 inch tires, capacity 1k, inflate the tires to 55-60 psi don't overload it and no tire problems, the 8 inch tires make loading easy, 12 would be nice also.
I think I'll probably pass on this freebee trailer and go for at least something with 12" tires and in better shape. I just feel better about it, I think if I got this thing with the 8" I'd always be waiting for something to happen. Thanks to everyone for their insight and knowledge. Shane
