Highway Riding
I was looking for something smaller and lighter , and I don't ride sun up to sun down anymore.
The '48 really caught my eye and that was the beginning of the adventure.
The weight , looks , 1200 engine just talked to me.
I knew when I picked it up that it was going to ride badly for me , easy enough to fix.
Here's a shot just after I picked it up and mounted the pilion.

Here's a shot as it rides now.

This is raised about 2" from stock and roadster handlebars.
Totally different ride , I can ride the tank till it's empty every time , even with the stock seat.
I just haven't gotten to changing the seat yet.
Rear shocks (13" electra glide) were free.
Handlebars were $80.00.
Front fork mods were $140.00 with damper tubes , springs , and fluid.
7" headlight was about $80.00 , great for night riding.
Rider backrest (the big comfort mod) about $250.00.
Modified the airbox and mufflers , that was free.
Now it's light , fast , 50MPG , and it makes me smile the whole time I ride.
I miss the FLHTCU sometimes , but I get more fun per mile with this one.
The only thing I miss quite a bit is electronic cruise control.........
