2003 XLC Won't Start

2003 XLC Won't Start
My 03 will light up, but hit the starter and she's dead, then won't even light up. Had a heavy load last ride, but rode home without trouble. Had the problem turn up this morning. The sun is shining and gotta ride, any help out there?

Hey thanks for the response. I have 12.5 on the battery. I took apart the starter button, took out the battery, pulled off the seat, and picked and poked around looking for a chafed or broken wire. Not finding one, I tried to start her, and she fired right up. I noticed though my right amber right running light was out, but not the blinker. I switched bulbs and it was just the bulb, I think. I'm headed to a friends wedding, so unfortunatley I'm done playing with it for the day and I don't dare ride it ( I'm might miss the open bar). Hoping to get a ride in tomorrow, but hesitant to go too far. If you can think of anything else to check, I'm all ears. I'm going to keep an eye out for a short. Thanks for your help - Linkster

Hey, Thanks for all your help. I found the ground at battery terminal was loose. I gave it a 3/4 turn and she fired right up. Would've written back yesterday, but had to get out for some ride time. Thanks again, - Linkster
