like when a deer runs out
this summer I’m rear brakes master cylinder did not release the braking pressure to the rear brake caliper it was dragging enough it started to bog me down.
I was heading home about 1/4 mile from my house the rear wheel locked up at about 42-45 mph
the Bike started to get sideways I had to corrective steer there was a long black mark on the pavement
I couldn’t move the bike off the road the rotor was hot the caliper was smoking
i had dot 5 brake fluid in it it was boiling I broke the bleeder loose it was steaming an came out in a stream
i rode it home with no rear brake
then I replaced the master cylinder
my triumphs an jap bikes stopped good fast an straight my Harley is scary with hard braking
I checked the rear tire alignment with a string an even used 12” dial calipers to measure from the rear axle centerline to the alignment holes in the swing arm it’s not cocked
any one else notice their bikes going sideways very quickly on a hard brake?
it could be the front brake taking the weight of my rear tire. I have had the back tire in the air before on motorcycles stopping hard before
my scooter is 30 years old it does not have ABC
