The Dark SideFor those members running "Car Tires" on their scoots. This is for their discussion only and not a place for "non dark siders" to mouth off about their negative opinions of this idea!
Greetings, wanted to stop bye and say Hello! Re-joined the forum as I traded my RK in for a 2014 FLHTK. I was pleasantly surprised to find DS folks on the HD forum.
I been running a Michelin CT on my GoldWing for 3 years now and I "Love It" On my 2nd tire with over 25K on the 1st tire, I picked up a screw so put the new one I had on, while the other one was being repaired, as there is still miles left on old one. Been thinking about going "Double"
Any gotcha's I need to be paying attention too on the setup with the CT on my new FLHTK? I notice some are running a Michelin 205/55Z/16, I have been running a 195/55R-16 Primacy Alpin PA3 ZP Run Flat on the Wing, sounds like this will fit ok on the new HD? Also looking to install a trailer hitch on the HD keeping in mind would be in conjunction with the CT, any suggestions would be appreciated
There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance - that principle is contempt prior to investigation
I went with a 195/60 to keep the overall dimensions closer. I've got a trailer hitch and had no issues with the tire. I chose a receiver style, but there are several out there.

I am running a 205-55-16 on my bike, but about 1/2 to 1/3 (I just made this statistic up!) seem to be running 195s. I don't think that you will have trouble with either size.
I do strongly recommend using Ride On tire sealant to balance your car tire with....
Thanks to all for your Replies, Need to put some miles on the new bike before I swap. "But I will"
I have been using dyna beads and they work well for me. I am curious about the Ride On sealant. How does this feel when the tire is cold. I remember using the green slime in my atv and until the tire warmed up, it felt weird.
It seems as to me that after the initial setup the Ride On only moves when the tire is warm and at speed. I have never felt anything strange after the first 20 or 30 miles from initial load.
As I see it, not only does the Ride On balance my tire, but it might save me from a flat! That's a two'fer in my book!

Ditto on the ride on. When I mounted my tire I put the ride on in and then waited for two weeks before installing on the bike. The tire set up, so I am sure it all gathered at the bottom. On the initial ride out it did feel funny for about a minute or so. Haven't felt anything strange since.
