Double Dark Side Front Tire Recommendations Please
The Dark SideFor those members running "Car Tires" on their scoots. This is for their discussion only and not a place for "non dark siders" to mouth off about their negative opinions of this idea!
You have mistaken my request my friend, I am looking for the tire size of a motorcycle rear tire to use on the front rim, not a car tire. Thanks so much for your interest and input though, appreciated!!

Sorry buddy, but Tigger is 100% correct. This is the correct place to ask Double Dark questions.
You can't go double dark unless you start by having a car tire on your bike. Therefore I would think he understands exactly what "The Darkside" is all about.
Wasn't aware of that particular Yokohama rubber being a car tire. I didn't fact check it as I think that peeps that run auto tires on their bikes, either front or back, need to have their entire mental capabilities checked by a qualified physician. There's a real reason that they make tires designed specifically for motorbikes.

To the OP: I run double dark, backwards. used the Battle axe tire. So far no issues. 2009 Ultra
"This winter I went DOUBLE DARK and put a motorcycle rear tire on the front of the bike. I went with a Battle Ax BT-45 150 series tire mounted frontwards. I was hoping that more rubber up front would work well with my car tire in back. It also looks really good! I went frontwards (some folks say you should mount them backwards) because it seems to me that frontwards would channel rain water out from the center of the tire. It seems to work well.
Anyway, so far so good. 2 weeks ago I ran Ohio's 555 two up from North to South as the second bike in a group. All I can say is that no one had slow down for me. All that rubber seems grip the road very well. I expect it will be great in the rain.
Best of all I still have not spontaneously combusted from having a car tire on my bike!"
At the time my bike was 2011 RG Ultra. I plan to go double dark again as soon as my original front tire needs to be changed, hopefully this winter.
I came up with battle ax 46 not 45, and the computer changed the stock 130-80-17 to the 150/70/17
am i on the right track? And are you running this with a radial rear?
