DYNOJET: Cant open Power Vision map
I got the map they sent saved to desktop, I opened the WinPV software, I found the map, I connected the PV to the computer. The PV says - PC link is active- there's no way to get the map?
Make sure you actually saved the map to the desktop, and that what you see on the desktop isn't just a link to the file. Also, make sure it isn't zipped should have a .pvt extension.
As far as updates, I believe the new versions of WinPV now have, under the Setup Tab, a check for Updates that will launch the update client.

"PC link mode active" when the PV is connected to your computer, that's correct, that is all it suppose to say.
The PV doesn't have to be connected to your computer to get the tune loaded into WinPV.
Try the Update client first,
Go to "all programs" on your computer and look for powervision, click on it,
in the drop down list you should see "pv update client", click on it, "program needs you permission to continue" box should come up hit continue,
connect your PV to your computer,
you will see what is installed and the latest versions available,
click on lines that doesn't match, hit download and install.

Hit open at top left, look for the tune on desktop, or where ever it's saved, click it, hit open, and it should load into Winpv
To send it to your PV, connect PV to your PC, have the tune loaded in Winpv, and hit "send tune"

If you did change the "Files of type" option at the bottom of the open file dialog box and tried to open a windup/compressed file, it would say Invalid tune Filename Extension ...so I doubt it is that.
If the file was corrupt it would either say Cannot Load and, not a PVT file or Unsupported PVT version
An item does not exist error sounds like when you log on to your computer to run the WinPV software, that user logon does not have permission to open the file - how good were you with computers? does that make sense? Do you use email and WinPV using the same computer logon name?
