Looks like it might be a reasonable day so I'm likely going to Chesters Joe.
South Fl not even in the cone of death of TD Erika, all that hype for nothing just to make sure we've got hurricane supplies. Hope not too wet for TampaFatboy and others west and north of us.
Sure looks like more rain, no doubt. Makes me wish I'd ordered my handlebars now. Give me something to do through the rain and the following luv bug thing.
Good thing is it diminished, no hurricane.
It's been a while, thankfully, since we've had a hurricane down here, but man I thought that thunder last night was gonna shake the house down..and it's not even here yet!
lol...Joe, saw that on the radar and more to come. I got 2" last night, entire area standing water and Erika fixin to roll up the west coast they say.
Hell, some of my buds haven't been able to get their scoots out for weeks, price you pay livin in the country with a dirt road. Need a 4X4 just to get in and out.
Told my wife last week sell this place, I was ready move back into town. Condo time! lol
Tampa FB, I hear ya. Bunch of the Springer guys get together each year during Bike week for camping at a country place off 40 (bunch of trailers and camping area) owned by one of the Springer bros. Should have seen all of us the first time we took a left off the paved road, onto what we thought was a dirt road....but was really soft sand. Luckily my dirt bike riding skills kicked in but it was a hoot watching everybody drop their bikes. Thank goodness for engine guards...I learned the value of them that day! Someone filmed about 15 of us finagling out bikes in and out one day, glad that didn't make YouTube.
My point is I hear ya, Harleys are lousy dirt bikes.
BTW I wonder if HarleyCruiser lives near you, have you watched the video of him riding out of his house? Check it out in his signature. LOL
@ Joe, that was one helluva video...thnx
HarleyCruiser gets my respect, hell yeah!
Ya know, most around here be stuck, they drink too much.
Starts to rain half of them headed back to the clubhouse...lmfao
^^^ Yes HarleyCruiser has my utmost respect too! Plus, check out his thread if you're bored and have an hour to kill... I totally respect a guy like him who just gets out in the shop and makes things. I have two little boys and I'm trying to get them interested in spinning wrenches and fixing things...but it's hard to compete with an iPad, YouTube and games...
Here we go ....... Monday maybe. Or just a tropical storm?
As we all know by now, this was a perfect example, the news headlines for the past week leading up to the storm were nothing more then hype, to get you to tune in, be it the internet, radio or tv news.
There was never a formidable hurricane, from the beginning it never developed into anything big and was doomed from the start but the "headline" news didnt want you to know that because news generates income.
and ... Bush? declaring a state of emergency??? Come on now, it just shows a sign of the times, people just follow whatever is told to them but if they looked at the facts available they would have known from the beginning, the news outlets were milking the storm and the governor of Florida was grandstanding like a lying hero to the public.
