As we all know by now, this was a perfect example, the news headlines for the past week leading up to the storm were nothing more then hype, to get you to tune in, be it the internet, radio or tv news.
There was never a formidable hurricane, from the beginning it never developed into anything big and was doomed from the start but the "headline" news didnt want you to know that because news generates income.
and ... Bush? declaring a state of emergency??? Come on now, it just shows a sign of the times, people just follow whatever is told to them but if they looked at the facts available they would have known from the beginning, the news outlets were milking the storm and the governor of Florida was grandstanding like a lying hero to the public.
Our governor is Rick Scott now. But I agree with the rest of your post and let me tell you, as much as that hype helps Public grocery and Home Depot, I used to run a resort - the news hype would KILL our business as all the hype would keep people from coming to Florida.
We had a few showers today from about 1pm, it was a little bit windy, I've ridden in way worse weather than it turned out to be. The forecast made everybody cancel today's riding.
I am fed up with the weathermen getting the forecasts wrong. Bunch of useless tossers.
Lauren I love it when your Brit shows...useless tossers...LOL
I ended up taking the ride to 27 at 5:30 or so, it was a ghost town as expected but the roads were clear and wide open so that's the way I like to ride.
Chester got a bad deal with the hurricane this weekend. I wonder if they do the sale next weekend. If I was in charge, I would.
