Hey guys anybody in the Jacksonville area that's looking to ride today or plan a ride for another day? Let me know we can meet up and ride and does anybody know any good bike hangouts here? lol I just moved up maybe 2 months ago.
Thanks for the reply I figured not much around here. I put 100 miles on my bike on Sunday and I didn't even go anywhere lol. im also trying to find like regular hang outs here, mainly on the weekends since I work till 12 and everything closes at 2. I have weekends off that's why I'd prefer stuff on the weekends
Bayard's Rooster used to be pretty popular. It's just south on US 1. South to Palatka, Cheyenne Saloon still packs them in. Lots of good riding in any direction around Jax. Take the ferry at Mayport and ride the coast up to Fernandina. Take the back roads to Shack by the track, have lunch there then ride around the swamp.
Fatmurse thanks and I'm going to be completely honest I have no idea what your talking about lmao I'm going to have to google map this stuff so I can visualize this. I just moved up like 2 months ago
The rooster is on philips hwy (US1) south of Jax, just north of the 9B construction area. Well known biker bar with live music on Sunday from 4 till 8.
Cheyenne saloon is just south of Palatka. Go south on San Jose Blvd. (CR13) through Mandarin and keep heading south till it ends. This is a great road for riding once you are away from Jax. When that road ends, turn right and ride until it ends then turn left. Cheyenne saloon is on the right. The bars from the old jail are at this place. About 150 miles round trip. Park in the back.
Leaving Jax on the northwest, take hiway 23/301 and head north. Just keep riding thru small towns. When you get to Folkston follow 23. After that just keep finding roads that turn left. You will eventually find your way around the Okeefenokee swamp. Around 230-250 miles. In Folkston (or Waycross, if you get that far) get gas, the rest of the trip could be just hunting your way around and your miles traveled could be as high as 350 for the round trip.
Fernadina ride. Go to Mayport near the navy base. Take the ferry across the river and turn right. Just follow the road. After passing some roundabouts, go straight, it is a narrow tree lined street that goes passed the fernandina airport. at the end of that road turn left and it curves around the airport. when that road ends turn right. It takes you to downtown fernandina. Around 100 miles roundtrip.
