Cedar Key Must Sees????

Some friends and I are riding to Cedar Key for the weekend. What are some must see stops? Someone mentioned Black Dog. What are some other bars, restaurants and sites?

I've only ridden up to Cedar Key once so I can't really help you there, but I highly suggest you ride down to Homossassa and go to the Freezer for lunch!!!

Black Dog Bar & Tables is one of my favorite places to go to if they are open. And in my experience of being there approximately 6 times. They were only open about 3 times. And good luck calling them and trying to find out if they are open or not.

If you standing in the street looking at Black Dog, upstairs is the Pelican something restaurant which is pretty good and overviews the Gulf as well as Black Dock.

I would strongly suggest 2 things.:
1) Stay at the Master Harbor Suites (I think the name is) or Cedar Key Master Harbour Suites....stay only in the room called Calligan <-- <sp> because it is huge, overlooks the gulf, and has a balcony where you can go out there and have drinks. Really nice.

2) When you ride onto the Island, you will see a colorful house on your left and it will say Kona Joe's. THIS is a GREAT place to have breakfast. These people are extremely friendly, the food is FANTASTIC, it is like a mom and pop place where you place your order inside, you side outside in their porch overlooking a dry riverbed.

Lastly my friend, when you ride in and get to the end street called Dock Street, it will look like you JUST rode into Rockport, Massachusetts. WOW!!!!! IT IS FANTASTIC!!!!!

You will be in for a good time there.

Took a ride with two friends across from Daytona to cedar key and back. Nice ride across the state make sure you have enough gas to get through the state park land long stretch with no gas stations ! I can't think of the name of the sea food restaurant in town that claims to have the second best chowder in the world ...haha it was real good . Nice little sea side town quite . That's all I have enjoy the ride .

While at Tony's ask for an appetizer of steamed clams. Large platter at a great place. They are farmed locally and buying you are supporting Florida Agriculture.

Went there for the first time back in August (took the wife for her birthday). Everything was great! I don't have any specific recommendations as we really enjoyed the whole place, and I just don't think you can go wrong in any of the bars and restaurants
