I keep hearing about the Oakley’s. There is a store nearby. Maybe I need to check it out.

I typically stay away from the cheaper sunglasses because when they say 100% UV protection, are they talking about 100% UVA only?

Are they talking about 100% UVB only?

Are they talking about 50% UVA & 50% UVB?

My eyes are 2 important to trust them to cheap sunglasses that may not have the UV protection I need. Especially riding in South Florida every day under the intense sunlight.

Thank you very much for your input. It was quite helpful as well as the other guys.

I've always been a Ray Ban guy.

Lately I've been sporting a pair of Rays from the Havana Collection.

I have had a few pairs of Costa and they are really nice and have lots of different options. I also like the Rayban Wayfarers.

Not from Florida but I am in sunny California. I am a big fan of Persols. Great quality.

Cheap sunglasses block UV. Their optics aren't as good, and the frames are not durable.

i HATE paying big money for sunglasses, so I found some Foster Grant's that I liked at Wal-Mart, and I bought EVERY PAIR for about 3 years. I had two piles: new & broken, and then, I just mixed & matched parts. That kept me going for almost a decade (last set is in the wife's car now)
but it was GREAT to keep a pair everywhere I went (wifes car, my car, bike, in my briefcase) and not FREAK if Iost/broke them
and the optics were great

can't find any FG that I like this time, so I have been doing the same thing with Ray Ban's newest model wrap-around:
Ray-Ban RB2027 W1847 PREDATOR 2 Matte Black
https://www.ray-ban.com/usa/sunglass...tor%202-black/

they are $220 in airports, ~$80ish on sale/eBay, and they are RX-able.

some glasses places do 2 year warranties for ~$20, so I got two of those, about 6 months apart.

i need plastic (non wire) frames that seal over the bridge of my nose so the air dont come in there & dry my eyes out, and these RB wrap around pretty good to flow the air around when ride without a helmet.

the big deal with highend sunglasses to me is the frame material is carbon or something REALLY light
and the FG/bargain glasses are heavy ole plastic.

i wont buy off brand or cheaper than FG , waste of money.

HTH?

hope that helps

In other words I did not directly answer your question but I gave you some experience and options

I too like the spring-loaded temple so they're flexible and less likely to break
